Seismograms from the station JCC, which is located east of Arcata, CA. The seismogram on the left shows the M7.2; the one on the right shows the M6.7 aftershock. Both earthquakes are plotted at the same scale. The M7.2 is located approximately 164 km from JCC, at an azimuth of 290, while the 6.7 is located 217 km away at an azimuth of 270 degrees.
