A swarm of several small-to-light earthquakes occurred along the San Andreas Fault near its junction with the Calaveras Fault in the Tres Pinos - Hollister area. At least 16 events with magnitude 2.5 or higher have been recorded (those with M3.0 or higher are shown above) from July 2, 2001 through July 4, 2001. These earthquakes occurred in the creeping section of the San Andreas fault, which experienced a similar swarm in 1990.
