Earthquake Notification Services
The CISN, as the California representative organization of the USGS Advanced National Seismic Network (ANSS), provides earthquake information to a Global Earthquake Notification Service (ENS) operated by the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program. The Global ENS allows users substantial flexibility to earthquake notification based on geographic regions, magnitude, and time-of-day, and recipient email address.
The ENS previously operated by CISN has been merged with the Global ENS. All additions, changes, and deletions of earthquake notifications are now done through the Global ENS.

Note: In addition to this email-based notification service, first responders, emergency managers and critical lifeline organizations may want to explore two software packages that provide reliable access to earthquake information from the CISN and other seismic networks.
