What I heard ... 8/15/2005 Request card generator Pete has been working with Allan Walter to address some issues with the RCG. This version of the code now puts request cards in the database. Pete reports that SoCal is still experimenting with the relationships used to extract data (apparently they are getting too many waveforms) but we can use it to start. The algorithm is an module that we could easily modify or change. Pete also needs to modify the software to archive channels such as time code. Jiggle Nothing new on this topic. We still need to confirm how we map hypoinverse fields to the database. These action items hold from our June meeting: -> Dave, Fred, Lind and Stephane are to review this issue. Stephane to initiate this by resending a mail message. Dave O is designated as chair. -> Then Dave, Doug, and Stephane will work with Paul and SoCal to address any issues. Paul will be modifying hyp2ps and the event coordinator as needed. -> Menlo to try out Jiggle on the test datasets that Stephane has put together. Questions for SoCal: -> Need to investigate what filtering options exist within Jiggle. Can you control which channels are shown for a given event? -> How does Jiggle create new events? Location codes Doug N. wrote up a draft implementation plan for Northern California. -> Menlo to review and comment SoCal might be ready to use locations codes soon - what will we do then? If this requires the elimination of CUSP, it might take us awhile to get there. Software installation at Menlo Will and Lynn have managed to compile the ACE and TAO codes (which underly CMS) and to install Oracle. Pete suggested waiting before taking on the other TriNet codes, so the next step is -> Will and Lynn to work with Stephane to set up the tables and populate some of the schema. -> Will to set up accounts for "lombard", "doug", and "stephane" on Menlo machines so they can help with the software & databases and to provide whatever direction is need for access (ie, come in through the CISN ring, etc). -> Lind to set up ncss@cisn.org email alias. Oracle security -> Dave O to circulate DOI email about Oracle security. SRB1 move Partially complete. Waiting for FEMA funds to finish... Next meeting: Sept 16 @ Berkeley
