Draft minutes from CISN software call - 3-8-05 2 topics of special interest in NC (CUSP must die!) Request card generator - Status of SoCal modifications It is completed and being tuned by SoCal. Doug G thinks it is currently too conservative. The RCG is implemented in Java and can be used in Jiggle or as a stored porceedure in the dbms. Since the only remaining issue is "tuning", NoCal can begin to use it. -> Doug G. to talk with Pete and provide the source code. Jiggle - New release to handle Md A new release has been provided to NC but there have been problems with attaching to the dbms. Doug G. thinks it is a mismatch between Oracle and the Java versions and suggested appropriate versions. -> Doug N. and Stephane will will investigate whether this solves the problem. CMS implementation in TriNet software Current status in SoCal Not fully deployed in SoCal yet. The servers are running, but not the clients. Staged deployment underway. Starting with the post-processing alarming as an "innocuous" starting point. Update on NC installation Pete found references to smart-sockets in the CMS codes. Removing them allowed the CMS libraries to compile, but he then encountered problems in compiling the TriNet libraries. -> Kalpesh and Pete to work together to build a clear version without references to SmartSockets and address other compilation problems. Magnitude coordinator Specification development Kalpesh has initiated a discussion about the specifications of the magnitude coordinator. -> NC to follow-up and use discussion board. SEED location codes Status of implementation plans? NC and SC need to be in sync on the implementation of location codes, given the sharing of waveforms and parametric data. Kalpesh is interested in working on this once the CMS deployment is complete. SoCal needs changes to their versions of the EW software and to the TriNet codes. NC has put location codes in some of the TriNet codes. In order to implement location codes, NC needs to retire CUSP. -> Pete to provide a list of the TriNet codes that have been changed in NC (by him and by Jim Yan) ->Lynn to provide a list of the Earthworm modules that have changed. This has also impacted config files. Lynn to provide whatever documentation exists on location codes. Misc items Statewide system - Need to restart pick feeds SoCal took their system offline. -> Tammer will set up feeds from both systems for Lynn (we don't have a way to handle failover at this time); she can either take both feeds and run a pick filter or just take a single feed for testing. NC running McNamara's PSD codes Pete has set-up the PSD codes at the BSL and they are running on approximately 400 channels since Jan 1 (broadband, strong-motion, strain, electro-magnetic) He has modified the codes to handle acceleration, strain, and em channels in addition to velocity. He has also provided the functionality to determine a time-window associated with the a frequency domain signal. The Berkeley plots are currently here (they may move in the future): moho.geo.berkeley.edu/seismo/PDF/ -> Pete will work with Tammer and Kalpesh to help implement this in southern California. Other Next call: 4/1 at 11. Please note that the email list currently consists of Doug N, Peter, Dave O, Lynn, Egill, Doug G, Tammer, Kalpesh, Paul F. and me. If we want/need others, to participate, then please ask them.
