Goal Create a uniform earthquake data acquistion, analysis, and archiving system in NC - the NCISN Definitions PER - post-event review is off-line analysis, generally within 24-72 hours QR - quick-review as immediate event for alarms, generally within 10-20 min Model 1) Two RT systems - primary and backup. a) Long-term configuration: - one RT located at MP, one located at UCB. - both systems perform full event processing. b) Current configuration: - two RT systems, each with components at MP and UCB. - both systems perform full event processing. 2) One archive at the NCEDC - possibly replicated at SCEDC or other places Proposal 1) NCEDC is the primary source of post-event review for both waveforms and parametric data 2) Local RT is a fallback of PER if NCEDC unavailable (rules tbd on how then migrates to NCEDC) 3) QR goes on in local RT system Questions/Issues to be resolved: Requires rapid transfer of data (waveform and parametric) from each RT system to NCEDC -- both primary and secondary systems provide parametric data -- push - or pull ? -- granularity of transactions ? -- several possible models for waveforms: -- neither MP or UCB has complete view now. -- form complete view by: all push, all pull or some combo? -- allow for replacement of unQC'd waveforms by QC'd waveforms. Does not require RT and archive dbms systems to be identical: -- Requires information mapping if the dbms schemas are not identical. -- may require modifications to dbms schemas to accomodate mapping. MP and UCB now have a joint catalog and can share in responsibility for analyzing events
